Dear Friends:
Once again the time is near for that most celebrated of Latin American events: “The Latin American Easter Holidays Camping Celebrations.” So welcome to the “Latin American Camping 2007!” This will be a renewed occasion when Andean and Latin American musicians and lovers of our music come together in Australia.
To begin with, your friends Freddy and Ada Gasser wish to extend to you their heart felt appreciation for your cooperation, your ideas and participation in our April 2006 Latin American Camping. Also greatly appreciated were the thank-you letters you have sent us as a result of the event – we were thrilled to know you had such a great time!
We are now in the midst of preparation and organization of this year’s Camping. It will officially open on the Fridays 6th April and continue through to Monday 9th April of this year: 2007. We have many and new ideas to make this Camping even more of a success, and of course we welcome our input. If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to improve the camping, please let us know.
We suggest that all Campers make an effort to arrive if possible on Thursday the 5th of April. This will allow or better organization as well as enabling the collection of firewood. Another option is to arrive in the campsite of “Abancay” the previous weekend or even with two weeks anticipation. Campers are welcome to do this, thus reserving their space and pitching their tents. They can then go away and come back on Friday 6th April, secure in the knowledge that their tents are already pitched and they can join the celebrations straight away in a relaxed manner!
People were really happy about the Market , and the festival. This is the main reason why it has been decide to place greater emphasis on the Market and the parade of folkloric groups this year. This will be held on Saturday 7th in “Abancay” the camping area. and will go on for longer: from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm – allowing for extended time for more folkloric groups to participate in the parade. There will also be more stalls with lots of wonderful handicrafts and a plethora of authentic Latin American food to be enjoyed on the day. If you have interested in setting up a stall in the Market, please let us know a.s.a.p. so we can organize for it.
To the dance or musical groups wishing to participate in the parade of 7 de April: we recommend to please start preparing their groups and the decorations for their groups. For the parade it is not important that the participants be of different nationalities, or that participants of various nationalities form one group, or even wear costumes of a different nationality. In truth The Latin American Easter Holidays Camping has always had as its main objective the unification of all Latin America, and indeed the unity of all nations. Here, in the Latin American Camping, we are of all one big nation! Please, let’s help each other to be better organized and make things more efficient and better for the campers (i.e. hygienic services and other necessities/amenities) we needed to know the times of your arrivals and departures, the exact number of people in your family/friends groups. If you want to reserve your spots, that’s fine, but please be serious in your commitment and pay in advance. Please reserve your place with plenty of time; remembers that spaces are limited.

The cost remains the same no matter how many days you stay:
• $40 each person of 16 years or older.
• $15 for kids between 10 to 15 years.
• Children under 10 years stay for free!
To make your booking you will need to sent a money order, to the “Latin American Camping”.
