BMW EDGE Federation Square

10 am to 6pm
ARTE LATINO is a unique event that presents arts and crafts of talented Latin American artisans working in Australia, as well as imported traditional handicrafts from indigenous communities.
Artisans from all corners of South and Central America will show the best of their works, reflecting hundreds of years of traditions and skills.
Craftsmanship molding the clay, carving the stone, bringing to life the beautifully handcrafted jewellery, traditional paintings and the scent of ancient aromas through a special display of perfumed candles are just some of the few artistic expressions that the event has to offer.
The public will have the opportunity to meet these talented artisans and share the experience and beauty of Latin-American cultures through a variety of stalls from Chile, Peru, Bolivia, El Salvador, Argentina and many others.
For visiting children ARTE LATINO will also offer face painting of indigenous motives, hands-on creative activities, introductory Spanish fun classes and music/ storytelling workshops by musician Rosamel Burgos.
TIME RUNS SLOWLY BETWEEN THE THREADS OF THE WEAVER, AND STORIES OF HUNDREDS YEARS OF TRADITION ARE TOLD ON EVERY PIECE MADE BY SOUTH AMERICAN ARTISANS…
